I fished Rock Chimney with my stepson, Kyle Vardeman, on February 26 from 7 til 11 a,m.  The trip resulted in career fish for both of us!

Kyle caught an even 5 lb. bass on an amber Senko and I landed a 7lb 2 oz fish on a 10 inch watermelon/red flake Power Worm.  Our total for the morning was two dozen fish, with most between 1 and 1/2 to 3 pounds.

I love fishing this property.  Fish are healthy and the land owner, John, is a real gentleman.  One word of advice,,,I fish out of a 10 ft. Pelican, and the wind always seems to present challenges.  I have addressed this challenge by using a small drift sock purchased at Academy.  It works quite well and allows me to pay less attention to the Minkota and more on fishing!

Good luck!

...small drift sock. Great idea, Tom. I never thought of using one on my small boat. Thanks.

Dale,

Glad to share. Mine is the smallest size that Academy sells and costs about 10 bucks. Gander Mountain has more expensive varities, but mine seems to do the trick at less expense.

Great idea, Tom.  I bought a bigger drift sock at Bass Pro and it saved the trip to Melody when the wind howled after the cold front came through Wednesday!
