Fished Yates Place last Tuesday, 10/23 with a guest. First time to Yates and as per all other reports, it's a great set up - very comfortable boat ready to go at the dock. We got on the water at 7:30, fished until late afternoon. As per Tom Dillon's report, Yates had been hit with over 7" of rain the prior week, so lake was still draining, water over the vegetation at the bank, water clarity a little over 2 feet. Was chilly in the morning with an east wind, warmed up some in the afternoon. Not surprisingly, no real pattern to the fish - we caught a few all over the lake - in the coves, along the dam, deep timber in front of the island and on just about everything we tried (top water, carolina rig, crank baits, rattle trap, chatter bait…). Caught about 20 in all, harvested 12, biggest was 3lb. Had the chance to visit with Mr. Yates late in the day, a great host. Will be back when the weather has hopefully been more settled

Glad to read that you did a lot better than I did, Pete. It can be tough, but the big girls are in there. It's the only body of water where I've ever caught five bass over 8 pounds in a 2-week period.
