Fished the afternoon with good results. This place will spoil you if your into the numbers game. For the first few hours, I used either a 6’‘senko or a 5” swimming senkos in various watermelons and Green Pumpkins. Switched to a crankbait and then finished with a rattle trap. Throwing a 1/4 oz trap would be a great way to thin out the undesirable smaller fish (1 every 5 min.) Total fish caught 70. 18 harvested. 5 largest = 18 lbs. 1/3 of the population is on the thin side. I could see 300 - 500 or more fish removed from here in 2011.

Thanks for harvesting! We will probably not remove 300-500 fish, but take a more conservative approach with 200 to 250. There is a balance between taking too many out, making the lake go from catching 70 fish a day to possible catching only 20 fish a day;albiet much bigger fish. it all depends on the goals of the lake. We are having our Houston/Austin/San Antonio/Central Texas fish fry their on Saturday April 2nd. We plan to bring a electro-shock boat to harvest along with our fisherman should be able to remove most or all of those 200 fish.
