My wife, 6 year old son and I lodged and fished at Lake Side on Sunday PM and Monday AM.  The cottage and the fishing were both great.  We had a great time.  The previous reports gave an accurate description and we were not disappointed. 

My son started fishing off the pier and practically caught a crappie on every cast.  In the past he would usually only fish for about 90 seconds and then want to do something else.  This time he had the time of his life and caught dozens of crappie, too many to count. 

I started out fishing for bass and caught 2 bass in my first 4 casts from the pier.  Then I joined him fishing for crappie.  It was cloudy and very windy from the South.  After that I spent about an hour and a half or more cleaning a full basket of crappie. 

Steve Alexander and his nephew dropped by and we had a great visit.  I thanked him for the great job that he and Keri have done with the club and that I appreciated his strong faith. 
Later on, Marty Mewbourne and his wife came by to say hello and we really enjoyed visiting with them and learning about the property. 

The next morning I fished for bass from the pier for a few minutes and quickly caught a few small bass.  It was cloudy, cold with a strong North wind.  I took the boat out and headed toward the dam.

I caught a nice bass that was between 21 - 22 inches and estimated to be between 6 - 7 pounds.  This bass had a worm hook stuck in his throat that appeared to be fairly recent.

In summary this is an awesome property, a great getaway, with great fishing for kids and adults alike.
