Marshall Hogue
Fry
Fished Saturday afternnoon 3/12/11 from 1 pm till 5:30 pm, when the wind just got to strong to cast. The wind was steady at 20+ mph and had a few very strong gusts from when I arrived till I left. I tried fishing with the wind at the dam but not many bites, then went by the pier with the wind straight into my face, I ended up with 28 total with 10 in the slot and brought home. Biggest fish was around 6# and a couple at 5# and alot of 16 to 17 “. The slots were all around 13”, almost the same fish each time. I caught a couple on spinnerbait and the rest were on my 8” handpoured snakes in multi colored greens. A few more were caught on 7” handpoured senko ripoffs. These are real soft with lots of action. Most were caught with the wind doing the work with the plastics even though I used a 3/16 weight to help cast them out far enough to get to the fish. None were caught within 15’ of the bank. This is a lake loaded with fish and it is great for getting away. Once your on the property it is very peaceful and secluded and I had a great time sharing the lake with around 100 cows. Once it gets a chance to fill back up and the winds die down it should be great to fish the stickups in the middle with a boat. Nice afternoon at a nice lake.

28 fish and 3 fish over 5 lbs. That is a heck of a 1/2 day!
FYI, Marshall makes his own lures and pours his own plastics. He has been very generous and shared some of these with me. I have given a few of his pop-r type baits to some of our landowners. Thanks for everything Marshall!
