I arrived at SW Lake on Wednesday morning at about 7:00 am. Have not been to this lake in several years. Lake was like glass and pretty clear, with temp at 62 degrees. Worked along dam with a brush hog without a bite until I reached the far end near the fence posts and got four hits in about 10 minutes, landing two of them in the 2 lb range. The wind began to pick up and with it the bite pretty much went away. Picked up 2 more small fish in the next couple of hours. Nothing up shallow except the two small ones and no sign of beds anywhere. From there I concentrated on the brush piles and stumbled onto a 6.2 and 6.4 that both were still full of eggs. With no shallow activity as yet, it limited the targets to the deeper brush piles. The piles definitely paid off! The wind increased steadily and I called it a day by mid-afternoon. It was another enjoyable day on a PWF lake.
