Reservation Number : 20963
Property Name : Triple J Ranch
Reservation Date : 04/14/2019 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 38 LMB
Lures Used : Chatterbait

38 LMB with the biggest at 6.46, 4 at 5.05 - 5.56, 5 at 4.02 - 4.86, 7 at 2.8 - 3.96, 9 at 1.5 - 2.5 and 12 culls. Post-frontal, blue bird sky, NW wind, air temperature 49 at arrival and 69 at departure, with surface water temperature 57 at arrival and warming to 65 at 6pm. Milk chocolate water visibility with water level very high, about five feet past normal shoreline and water rushing out overflow by dam. Fish were very shallow, located in or very close to the flooded shoreline weeds or right next to the dam. The day started slow with only four fish caught before noon, then as the water temperature rose and after I figured out that the fish were shallow, the catch rate jumped substantially. The NW wind was pushing water against the earthen dam all day, which I suspect was washing bugs, worms, etc. into the lake, attracting bluegills and stacking the LMB right next to the dam. The 6.46 and all but two of the 5s and 2 of the 4s were caught along the dam. Used a 3/8 oz chatterbait, BH Delite color, with 3.8 keitech trailer in sunfish color to catch all fish.
