Fished Jermar today 3/19 and had a pretty good day despite the wind. I harvested 15 of the little guys that weighed a little over 14 lbs. from the big tank. Caught 1 that was 19 in. first thing in the mourning when I was bank fishing without my scale. Released 5 that were 16 to 18 in.. and lost a good one that jumped off, she was pure white from being winter deep I guess, and was pushing 7 lbs.
A few of those little ponds have some good fish. I didn’t know if we are supposed to harvest fish from the little tanks or not. I had a good one ruin a booya spinner bait and came off. Several of them had been caught before so I released them also. I did catch one in the mourning that had a tear in it’s mouth and caught it again before I left. Catch and release worked on the same day.
Caught most of the fish on a chartruse and white spinner bait or a brown jig with green pumpkin craw trailer. I used a heavy swim bait in the high winds and thats when I hooked the big one of the day.
