My wife and I just got back from fishing San Saba. WOW! What a fishery. We didn’t catch any of the giants we all know that live there but be were able to scratch out 96 bass. You ask how can you really keep count of all those fish..Well you have a wife that carries a grocery counter on her belt that’s how (she’s very competitive) I am now treated like “Little Donnie Net Monkey” Honey moon is over.

Most of the larger fish have already spawned. It was evident when we would catch one with a huge head and concave belly, They were very sluggish as well. They need to be handled with loving care right now as they are very tired.

But there is a gajillion more bass that are getting ready to spawn and probably did last night and the night before. So go get em! These fish are all very fat and full of them selves.

My hat goes off again to owner Ken O’Rear. I had made a suggestion to him the last time we talked about setting up the boats with some seats with backs in them for us Old Codgers. well He did it. It was so wonderful for me and my wife to be able to sit down and fish, Really helpful when the wind blows and your tired. Thank you again Ken. I owe you one for that.

And sorry again for forgetting my trash…oops. Won’t happen again.

Tight lines and blessings everyone.
