Got to the water at 0700, nice new 12 foot jon-boat. There were fish moving on the surface everywhere. Started raining at 0800 with thunder and lightning that sent me to the truck for nearly 3 hours, then continued to fish in the rain until about 1 pm when the sun came out. Not one hit during the rain. Caught 10, biggest was 2.8 lbs. Top water was getting the most hits, but I was either impatient with my set or the fish were not that interested, because I had at least a dozen escape. I did note that all my catches were barely hooked, the fish didn't seem as committed as I wanted them to be. Lures uses, trick tail, frogs, poppers, creature baits, cranks, rattle traps, spinners. Nice property and not far from DFW. There are big fish in this lake, some of the hardest strikes in the cove on the Right (west) side of the lake - but the same outcome - set hook, three quick hard shakes and they were off. Fun day.
