Went to 9G the afternoon of 6/11, fished from 1:30 until sunset. Great conditions for fishing out of a kayak, overcast for most of the afternoon, light S breeze, air temp in low 80's, water temp at 79. Lake is in great shape, full (going over the outflow), 3' visibility away from the shallows, lots of weed cover. This is such a great site, had a typical 9G day with over 20 fish and 8 or so in the 3-5lb slot. Largest was 5.1 caught in the shallows on the S end. Normally the hot spot for me here is the N bank in 6-8' of water, but not a bite there on Tuesday, don't know why. Graphed a huge ball of bait by the outflow and caught about 10 fish (including 3 crappie) on a shad rattletrap in about 40 mins, all in about 10 square yds of water. Have to think the bass were herding up the bait fish. There is a clear thermocline in the main lake at ~10', saw very few fish deeper than that. Not a bite on deep cranks or TX rig. Caught most on the rattle trap and then free-lined senkos including a few in the S shallow end in 18" of water. Bite went off about 7 pm, though did catch a couple on top water late on. Huge carp feeding all over the lake were fun to sneak up on. As others have said, big sign by the launch area advertising the ranch is for sale - head out there while you can!
