Lures Used : Wacky rigged Senko

Mike & I fished Saturday morning at Pecan Gap.  The first couple of hours it was overcast and then partly cloudy the rest of the morning.  Water clarity was good. Only the very back of the one cove had a lot of moss.  The majority of the lake was clear.  We caught 13 fish of which we harvested 3.  The quality of the fish was excellent.  We had two 6's, one 5 3/4, one 5 1/2, two 5's, one 4 and 3 smaller ones.  All the fish were like footballs and gave us a great fight.  Wacky rigged Senkos, pumpkin, black/blue. purple and chartreuse colors was the primary bait.   Had a good conversation with the landowner on the way out.  He's in the process of putting in a new dock.  This is an awesome property Mike & I always love to fish.

There was quite a bit of moss in the creek on the right, but it is very shallow there. The creek on the left was open as well as the main lake. Vegetation was not an issue.

Rick,

Did you use your own boat or the club pontoon boat?

We normally use our own two 8’ pond busters, but this time we used the club pontoon boat. It’s a great boat, very stable for a couple of big guys. We did put a 55 lb motor on the front and a 35 lb on the back. It it gets windy, like it did Saturday, the motor on the back really helps for getting around. Also forgot to mention in earlier posts that we caught most fish in 8’ to 10’ out from the banks.
