Fished from sunup to about 5 on Sunday with fellow member Grant Robinson. Conditions were very windy (sustained 15 mph winds with gusts up to 30 mph), humid, and partly cloudy. We started the day bank fishing with little luck. Caught two by 8 am with jigs. We decided to brave the windy conditions and hopped in the boat around 9. We didn't have much luck until around 11, when suddenly big bass started hammering the chatterbaits and jigs around the marked brush piles. We had a remarkable 2 hours of fishing with our 5 best totaling 32.47 lbs (8.06 biggest) and 29.61 lbs (7.38 biggest). At one point Grant caught two 5+ pounders on consecutive casts. Then, as quickly as it had turned on, it turned off. Not a nibble past 2 p.m. except for a nice 1.5lb crappie.
