Yates Place 3/28
Caught about 40 in a days fishing with my fishing bud, Courtney Coe, even fishing after the cold front hit this weekend. Green lizards primarily and red worms. We delivered about 25 fish to the landowner owner, Dwain, under 14 inches in length. We caught probably 7 in the 3.5 pounds to over 6 pounds range. The place is Beautiful. He keeps this place up like a golf course. The accommodations / lake are top notch. A must see in my book. Pictures of Courtney and some catches to follow.
I understand a 7 and a 10 pounder were landed by the party there ahead of us.
If I ever visit this place when the weather is good – watch out! I may never leave.

You are correct a 10 lber was caught and would have been a strong player in the big bass tournament, but it was a guest of one of our members. If you are fishing Yates Place and have not entered the big bass contest your should re-consider. I am pretty confident the biggest fish of the year will come from this lake and I fully expect that fish to weigh 12 or 13 lbs. We are ready to call TPWD and submit a fish to the share a lunker program.
