Toad
I fished this property on March 30, 2011 from 10 AM until about 3:30 PM.
conditions:
Sunny
Winds: very gusty from the north
Water temp: 66 F
Air temp: 50 F at 10 AM; 64 at 3 PM
Front had just blown thru the night before
I caught 8, two were undersized (12” and 13”) and I harvested those two. The other 6 were 4-5 lbs each.
Patterns:
Before noon I caught 4 on plastic worms (green/orange tail) and senko (green w/ red flecks) both using a 3/8 oz weighted hook. All were caught near the bank either from the pier or to the left of the pier.
After noon I caught 2 on the same senko (these were the harvested ones) and 2 on a deep-diving crank bait (brown/chart./orange). All were caught off the front of the pier in fairly deep water.
Other lures used with no success:
- Rattle trap (red, blue/chrome)
- Suspending jerk bait (blue/chrome, blue/orange)
- Tx rigged worm
- Medium diving crank bait
