Fellow member Jim Mathis and I went to Bennett yesterday and spent the Day. Weather was beautiful, sunny with light to moderate winds and low humidity. Started around 8:00 am and stopped at 6:00 pm with a couple of breaks in between. I caught most of mine on a light shaky head while Jim caught most of his on various crank baits from shallow to deep divers. Most of the bass were in the 2-3 lb range with a couple maybe close to 4 lbs. I did manage to hook a huge bucket mouth and bring it to the top very close to the boat. She broke the surface and went down for another run so a loosened my drag to let her run and wear herself down but my rod soon relaxed and I knew she got free. What a disappointment that was but exciting to see none the less. All in all a good day with a great friend!
