Bill Crutcher and I fished the Martins Mill - Mewbourn Ranch, Hidden Valley lake yesterday (April 01). We fished from 8:00 am until about 11:30 am. An absolutely beautiful day to be on the water - warm, with low wind. Senko’s and lizards in shallow water were the bait and technique of the day. We caught 10 nice bass with the largest being 4.5 lbs. The 2 man “bass buggy” type boat and trolling motor work just fine on this small 5 acre lake. A major drawback is that the majority of the lake is very shallow and absolutely infested with slimy moss. The bass are VERY healthy and put up a heck of a fight.
