Reservation Date : 09/14/2019 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 16 LMB
Lures Used : chatter bait; stick bait

I fished Lakeside, Martins Mill on 9/14/19.  I caught 16 LMB with one cull, 15 released, with top 5 at 24.3lbs, with 5.53, 5.5, 4.7, 4.3 and 4.3lbs, another at 4lbs and rest 2-3lbs.  Lake level is down, water temperature was 84 at launch and 87 when I left the lake at 4:00pm.  Water clarity is as much as 3 feet now, a bit more than I like it.  Bluegills are still spawning at Lakeside, on 9/14, with 85 degree water temperature.  I saw a bass mortality that had floated to the surface and was vulture food before I left.  Summer pattern still in play at Lakeside.  I caught 12 of 16 under dock and the brush pile closest to dock.  Water level is low, so pulling a boat out of water may be a challenge.  White chatterbait and Geecrack bellows stick bait were the most productive lures today.

Greg,

Great post and very informative. Thanks for the pictures as well. Huge help. The turbidity (muddy ness) of the water has dissipated from the dredge work done at the lake over the winter.

I love to see the spawning beds and especially that the bluegill are back on the beds. Bluegill spawn every 35 days or so when the water temps are 70-85. So, we may get one or two more spawns this Fall. More Spawns=more bluegill=happy fat bass.
