Fished this fine property yesterday afternoon with fellow member John Shepard from noon to dusk.

Partially overcast skies, slight south wind that greeted us slowly built throughout the afternoon. Water temp up by the creeks 91F gradually decreased to 88F by the dam. Water clarity 1-2ft. Water down 3.5-4ft in the reservoir (95% of the tank can be fished from the bank right now).

We started throwing from the bank, transitioned to the fine jon boat from 2 - 6pm and finished the day throwing from the bank as darkness settled in.

We landed 17 nice chunky bass ranging in size between 16 - 19" with only two small ones (~13"). All of the fish caught were stout, healthy and pulled hard once hooked. Bite for the most part was subtle over the course of the afternoon with most of the success coming on plastic sticks (watermelon red flake, candy corn and sweet potato pie) presented in the following styles weightless wacky, dropshot wacky, & weightless Trig. John had some success with a chatterbait/fluke set up but I couldn't get a bite on the same rig. We ended the day with some success throwing buzzbait and popper topwaters. Almost all of our success occurred between the boat launch and the dam within 15' of the the bank.

We had a nice chat with Mr. Stanley near the end of our session, as we were rigging up to throw topwaters! Thanked him for allowing us to fish this fine property west of Houston!
