Took a very short trip to Lancaster Malouf for the first time from about 1 to 3:30 yesterday. Fought some strong south winds, but it was a beautiful day to be outside. Water temp was 63 and aside from the muddy areas around the dam caused by high winds, the water was very clear. Fishing would have been tough in the jon boat even with an anchor or two. The boat ramp is in good shape. Caught 4 dinks, all relatively shallow with square bills and flukes. No luck deep around the timber with chatterbaits, tx rigs, and jigs. Easy trip from Dallas and will be back.
