Fished with Zach and Dale at Rough Creek Saturday afternoon and we caught a lot of fish. Conditions were great and wind was minimal. Zach and I caught a bunch 2-3lbers with an occasional 4 mixed in. I know Dale wore them out but didn’t get a full report. If his day was like our boat, then the three of us boated over 100 fish easy that afternoon. Shaddow Minnow, watermelon colored plastics, cranks, and jigs worked the best. Lots of fish being caught off the stumps so bring a depth finder. Saw tons of big bluegill that would be a lot fun on ultralight or fly. Also able to cast to cruising bass a few times and watch them eat.
Zach probably caught 40 fish alone on the banjo minnow wannabe.
Around 5pm, I set the hook on a jig bite and quickly found out that I had stuck a big one. Ended up being a 9lb 10oz! Would have been an easy 11 before spawn.
Fantastic day!

It was a great day, although when we pulled up there were 5 boats on the water, which is expected when fishing that kind of resort!
I think Mr. Fitzhugh’s scale was broken because the fish looked to be 12lbs, which would be winning the BIG BASS TOURNAMENT!!!
I ran out of my trusty BANJO’s and went to the Shadow ;-)
