Reservation Number : 22865
Property Name : Lago Escondido
Reservation Date : 01/26/2020 PM -
Total Fish/Sizes : 2 fish; 3-4 lbs rach
Lures Used : Shallow running square bill

I fished Escondido on the afternoon of January 26. Conditions

Water temp: 62 degrees

Air temp: mid 80 degrees

Water clarity: stained

Sky: clear

Wind: slight

It was good to be back on the water as I had surgery in August to repair several tendons in my right shoulder.

The water level is about two feet below the swimming pier. There was no visible vegetation and it was easy to launch my kayak. I did catch two in the 3-4 lb range on a shallow diving crank bait. Both were healthy and fought all the way to the kayak. I did miss a nice bass on a heavy job, but the reel I was using had a problem with the drag (I thought I had fixed the issue - that reel is now headed for the donation pile).

I tried these lures;

Frog

Fluke (weighted and unweighted)

Senko

Paddle tail

Rattle trap

Mid diving crank

Chatter bait

Spinner

I was surprised when I woke the next morning with no additional soreness or pain. Looking forward to working up to a full day.
