John Bedore  and I had a great outing at Waco Creek this past weekend.  We spent a day and a half and caught a ton of fish.  The lake was in great shape very fishable with very good water color.  We caught 15 bass over 5 pounds, three over 6 pounds and one right at 7 pounds.  The average fish was over 3 1/2 pounds.  All in all it was the kind of trip we have experienced at Waco Creek in the past...only better. The new lodge was a great new addition to the place as well!

We got to spend some time visiting with the owner and hear him talk about his vision for the lake and property and hear the enthusiasm and passion he and his family had for managing such a beautiful place left John and I very inspired and very thankful for his generosity in sharing that passion and property with our club members!

Although we caught some fish out to 10 foot depths the majority were caught less than 5 feet, many less than 10 feet from the bank.  A previous report had included a map with fih catching area highlighted.  Even though we fished the while lake thoroughly that map proved pretty accurate for us as well.

Bruce/John,

What a day! 15 over 5 lbs. I would expect these females are just now moving up. Did you find them in 2-3 foot of water or 5-8 foot; staging to move up?

Steve, I would say that they were still staging mostly in 5-8 foot depths.  What a day indeed!
