Chris Edwards and I fished Pecan Gap on Monday.  Completely overcast the entire day, this is definitely one of the fishiest looking properties in the club.  However, the fish are finicky and we had trouble finding what worked.  Started off at 7am and got hit on topwater frogs, and the first fish was 3 1/2lbs at the edge of the grass.  After that bite turned off, we tried swimbaits, T-rigged brush hogs, Rat-L-Traps, until we finally found something that worked: watermelon red-seed Senkos.  First fish caught was mine and it was 4-13.  We caught a few off and on, and then Chris caught the big fish of the day with a nice 5-14, right in the same spot I caught my 3 1/2 earlier in the morning.  Almost all fish were caught along the grass line of the bank; none were caught in the standing timber.  We caught a nice slab crappie at the buoyed hump in the middle of the lake.  Beautiful place and would love to return.
