First time back since the reopening.  They tore down the old house on the entrance so don’t look for it. Turn left at the new house they are building on the site.  The new dock looks good.  We caught around 30 Bass for the day and all were small males in the 1 to 2 pound range.  Not a single female.  The males were traveling in schools of 5 to 7 fish.  The water was clear and at least 8 foot visibility.  The lake is full.  We used plastics all day. Tried rattletraps, cranks and spinners but no takers.  Caught one bass at spillway on a pop-r as I saw him working the bait fish.  The water temp is 58 at the dock and 60 in the coves and corners. The fish look healthy but small.  Plenty of bait fish all around the lake. Give me 8 more degrees and I’ll be back. We did have to share the lake with one other fisherman (friend of owner) but this was not a problem on this lake.  But he does have a small bass prowler that he keeps out there and it sits about 200 feet south of the dock in the grass. We used the resident skow and it works great.  Oh, the monster gills are still at the dock. We also had the opportunity to watch 17 Deer on the way into the lake in the morning. Great day and great site.

Any lakes in our club that are 30 acres or bigger are allowed to have 2 groups (2 boats) at one time.  Six O Ranch is a 50 acre lake so, 2 boats are allowed.  The landowner at this site has one group of friends that they allow to fish.  They will never be allowed to fish with a large group of our members.  You will never be crowded at this property.

Phil this did not present a problem as he stayed at the other end of the lake.  I believe he said he only came out there on Thursdays.  We met him when we were going back out and he was going in to meet the owner.  I would be concerned if he was using the onsite boat that I reserved but he has his own boat. I wanted to make sure no one launched his boat.  If he keeps it in the sun he won’t have a boat too long in that hot Texas sun come summer. The UV rays are punishing. Phil, give it two more weeks of today’s weather and you’ll catch a female off the beds that will win the big bass competition. Work that west side and the area around the old Tank.  The old tank is the furthest left fork in the north end.

I am wanting to try this lake. What is the “resident skow”? I understand they have a regulation bass boat for members to use, just have to provide your own battery? Is this right?

Thanks in advance for any info.

Paul,  yes they have a full size old Bass boat.  You need to bring a trolling motor and a battery.  Remember to use the rudder otherwise the boat has a tendency to move sideways. Good luck and I’m sure you’ll catch a bunch of Bass.
