My son and I fished a full day at JerMar Sunday April 5th.  The day started off cold with temps in the 40s.  The bite was slow all morning.  We caught a few in the small ponds on a chatterbait and a swim jig.  We also caught a couple in the big lake (Lower JerMar) but the bites were few and far between.  There is already a significant amount of grass throughout the lake.  Due to the grass we had to fish weedless and even swim jigs were snagging a lot of grass.  We tried the boat for about an hour but the trolling motor kept getting entangled in grass so we gave up and stuck to fishing the entire perimeter from the bank.  Things changed about 3:00 as it warmed up.  The topwater bite turned on and stayed on the rest of the afternoon/evening.  We exclusively fished with frogs the rest of the day catching numerous bass along the grass line in the northern half of the lake.  We had a few culls and the biggest was 5.5 pounds.
