Water clarity was about 6 inches, very murky green which was very different from the last time I fished when water was VERY clear and visibility was about 4 - 5 feet in the shallow ends. Water is about 4 feet low, but up about a foot from last month after all the rain. Caught about 12 in 5 hours of fishing from dinks to 3 lbs. Harvested 7 fish at about 5 lbs. No vegetation at this site, just wood and lay downs, there are some lily pads starting to come up by the dam. when you catch a good one, they fight hard, wind blew sometimes pretty hard, over all a good day.

Jon,

Thanks for the update. I was in great hopes that the lake was full or close to it with the last heavy rainfalls. It goes to show you how dry we really were and how much the ground soaked in the rain.

I hope the water clarity was closer to 18 inches than 6 inches; as 6 inches is about as murky, turbid as any water I have ever seen. Either we have a really good phytoplankton bloom, muddy water from the rainfall, or another physical issue. I will do some investigating on the 6 inch clear water.

There was also an odd green film on top of the water when the wind died and there were times when the visibility was 6 inches at the most, but it was very, very murky. Thanks Steve.

The green film is the phytoplankton. Which is good. I spoke with the landowner and the lake is up 3 feet with another 3 feet to go.
