My son and I fished Ashworth Farms on Saturday May 14th in the morning.  The main lake was still very low with the deepest water around 5 to 6 ft.  We were able to catch 40 before noon which I thought was great considering the passage of the front and the cold weather.

This is a great lake to take someone fishing for the first time because practically anything you threw out was taken.  Most of the fish were around 1lb with the largest 2 lbs.  These fish are excellent fighters and are very aggressive.  My son caught his first fish ever on a Rapala.  I caught the rest on a jerkbait with a couple on top water.

This is my second trip to the lake.  I fished there on April 10th as well with my father visiting from out of town.  We fished about a day and a half in very strong winds but still managed to catch over 60.  Great fun lake.

Did you fish from the bank or boat?

I fished from a bass buster type of boat, but you could easily wade fish this lake.
