We fished Saturday afternoon and caught 19 of which 14 were keepers under 14 inches. Caught 5 on top water frog and torpedo. The 5 were all between 16 to 17 inches and caught right at sundown. That Northwest wind howled all the way to sundown. Then it became a mirror. Saw the largest bullfrog of my life while fishing a frog. He kept on chasing the frog and I’m sure he wanted a meal.
I’m not sure if it was the wind and us fighting it to position the boat or the result of the front coming through but I expected a better bite.
You got to love this site as the setting is so beautiful.

Fishing after a cold front with a North wind can be brutal. I am tickled to hear that 25% of the fish were over the slot in the 2 to 3 lb range. I think the increased size is a direct result of removing the smaller fish over the past year. We have removed over 400 fish this year and more than 600 last year. We are not there yet, but if each person fishing removed 15 fish each of their trips we would hit our target of 1500 fish in 2011. Thanks for doing your part.
