Fished with our landowner on Tuesday afternoon for a few hours. We boated 12 fish. Fish were right against the bank in a 2 to 3 foot pocket between the vegetation and shore line. Did manage a few fish in small 3 foot pockets in the matted vegetation. the vegation which is primarily coontail moss and very thick on about 25% of the lake. Most fish were caught on weightless watermelon red flukes. We harvested 3 fish. Big fish was a nice 6.12. Second biggest fish weighed 4 lbs. We lost one that would have weighed 5 lb plus. In general the fish were above relative weight and are in great shape. There has been a newly rennovated small brood pond installed on the west side of the lake about 200 feet from the big lake. This pond is a tilapia brood pond that will be used to supplement additional food for our bass. You may not fish this pond. Besides, there is nothing in the pond but tilapia, which are hard to catch.
You will notice some construction on the west side of the lake. There is now a small island with bridge and large pavallion. The property will be available for large corporate groups, weddings or family reunions. If you are interested in learning more, call the club for more information.
