I was blown away by the 30-40 mph winds this past weekend at Lake Side! I tried to navigate the john boat as best I could, but mother nature wouldn't have it! It was brutal. However, I was also blown away by the really nice fish as I managed to catch 7-8 good size bass during the weekend, the smallest being 2.0 and the biggest being 6.0! Quality not quantity, I was surprised how they were biting considering the strong winds. Most all catches were against the shore near the cabin, which tells me they were still spawning. Caught all on new Powerbait Swimmers lures. I also tried my new Thunder Cricket but no luck. We had a great time, a nice 24 hour getaway. Note: the directions read take highway 80 to Canton; needs to read take I-20 to Canton.
