Started fishing around 1:30 and caught a 4 pounder off the bank while talking to the land owner, a very nice gentlemen. Launched the boat and the next two fish were 5 lbs. and 3 lbs. There was a steady bite all day. I was using an 8 inch magnum watermelon seed lizzard, Texas rig.I didn’t count the total number of fish, but I caught them steady all day. I landed four fish that I estimate to be in the 5 lbs. range. (I don’t have a scale).I lost a lot of big fish at the surface trying to get them into the boat. I’m not used to catching big fish and I think I was letting my rod tip drop and they were throwing the hook. I also missed a lot of strikes because this is the first time I seriously fished the Texas rig lizzard and stuck with it. If there are any small fish in this lake, I sure couldn’t find them. These monsters kept hitting me all day. This was truely a special day on the water.
