This was my first time to fish this lake. When they say it’s difficult to launch a boat they mean it. I had to drag my boat (1 man pontoon) about 15 yards to the lake, and then fight through about 20 yards of thick vegetation on the lake to reach open water. Once you get past all of that the fishing is great. I caught about 20 bass averaging about 16-18 inches. My largest was 22 inches. I don’t have a scale so I’m not sure on weight. All bass were caught on wacky rigged tiki sticks on the edge of the vegetation which runs around the whole lake.
If you have a boat like mine, or use a float tube be careful. there are snakes everywhere. One came up right between my legs. I almost had a heart attack.
I also suggest leaving before it gets dark. Unless you have a GPS( I forgot mine) It can be difficult finding your way back to civilization. I stopped at a gas station to ask directions back to Central expressway. All three of the employees said they never heard of it. So I said just get me back to Dallas. They gave me directions that took me 1 1/2 hours to get home. It only took me 45 minutes to get to the lake. I will never forget my GPS again
