Arrived at the lake around 1:00 and fished till dark. Temperature reached about 100 degrees with little cloud cover. Vegetation has continued to grow at this lake and it is a bit more difficult to fish near the banks compared to previous months. Fish have mostly moved out to depper water so not a problem for some afternoon fishing. Water clarity is great. Could see many large blue gill on beds throughout the lake. We ended the day with 70 bass, 12 culls. Most in the 3-4lb range with a few bigger and smaller. Fish were schooling in deeper water and certainly feeding. Majority of fish caught on Carolina rig plastics, watermelon red/green pumpkin color. 6in Senkos with a slow retrieve worked well. A lot of the bites we had were pretty subtle but the fish fought hard. Spook worked well over the grass beds late in a clear color. We observed many bass in the 3lb range feeding on large schools of minnows.
