Great morning at Ben Wheeler on 6-4 outstanding topwater bite until about 9/30. It was great to have a windless day for a change. Mr Birt was a great host as we had to borrow some wire cutters to get a treble hook out of my son’s index finger. The barb was really in there. I’ll definitely include a good wire cutter in my tackle box from now on. Does anyone have any experience with the “fishing line trick” method of hook removal?

Regarding the fishing line hook removal - Last summer I was fishing on Cooper Lake with a friend of mine from Oklahoma.  We motored past a boat of three fishermen and one of them had a hook in his finger.  My friend used the fishing line method and it worked lika a charm.  It appears that the person with the hook will feel an extremely short, but noticeable pain for about 1/2 of a second.
