I went to Timber Lake for my first time.  Had issues with my boat trailer and didn't fish until noon.  Also had to leave at 4 pm due to a lightning and thunderstorm.  However, it is a beautiful lake and and a beautiful drive to the lake, and the landowner and her helper were a great pleasure to meet and very helpful.  I tried a variety of lures, and finally got my first bite and fish, 2.5 lb. and fat, on a crank bait.  I am guessing fishing before noon and after 4 would be more productive.  Heading back there this Saturday.

Thomas,

If you can get there at dawn the weedless frog bite is usually good in the thick grass until the sun gets high. All along the north shore near the shed. Also in the shady creek arms.  Remember to let them run/swallow 1-2 seconds before you set the hook.

Good fishing.
