After reading all of the recent reports I finally had a chance to get back to this beautiful property and had nice morning of reel solitude! Arrived at dawn at caught my two largest of the day (19” & 18”) throwing a black whopper plopper from the west bank by the shed with the solar panel. At sunrise I launched my kayak hoping to locate the schooling bass, as noted in many of the recent reports, and focused my efforts on the north side of the tank. Although I failed to locate the schools, I did get sporadic action in waves throughout the morning, mostly at the corners of the dam. By noon I had landed 16 with 4 culls.

Water down 2ft, visibility up to 18”, some local patches of submerged weeds.

Topwater bite stopped at sunrise. Most productive bait was a shad colored chatterbait with a shad paddletail trailer. Had some additional success with a blk & blue swimbait with a similar craw trailer. No luck with flukes, lipless cranks. The four culls came on a wacky senko.

Looking forward to when I can fish this Austin area gem again.
