My son Eli (9) had his first PWF trip this afternoon at Weston SW Lake. The second fish he caught was a personal best, then he caught the fish in the attached photo, on his last cast of the day and moved the PB mark even higher.
A great start to his PWF experience!

Sorry I didn’t answer this question earlier, but haven’t been on the site in a while. I fished SW Lake again this morning (8-20-11) and the lake is fishable. Coontail is pretty thick around the edges, but there’s open water in the middle. Fish were in the coontail feeding early, caught fish mostly on the edges of the coontail.

How is the weed mat right now? Is the lake easily fishable?
