We didn't arrive until 9:00. It was a little chilly and overcast in the morning. We couldn't generate any action on swim baits so we switched to plastics. We started catching fish on a 5" pumpkin with blue flake senko which turned out to be our "savior bait" today. We picked up a few smaller fish but then Trav nailed a solid 3 pounder, then a very nice 4. lb 4 oz bass while carolina rigging off a main point close to the grass line. There was a lull in production from 12:00 to 4:00 when the sun came out. We started catching fish again a little after 4:00 and pulled in several up to the 3 lb range between 4:00 and 6:30, mostly on the carolina rigged senko, in about 10 to 13 feet of water. All in all there were about 4 or so in the 3lb range, one well over 4 lbs, around 6 2lbs and probably 6 or so 1lbs or less. The water was quite clear and the grass still quite abundant but the pond was still quite fishable. We got a visit from the friendly owner who drove down late morning to say hello and check on us. I look forward to learning more about this pond the next time we're back. It's a good one!
