Reservation Date : 11/12/2020 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 2 LMB, 1 bluegill, 2 slab crappie
Lures Used : beetle spin and small white chatterbait without trailer

I fished Pecan Gap from 8-3:30 under partly cloudy skies, a steady SSE breeze and warm temperatures. It was an unusual outing in that I made my first trip around the lake, fishing all the usual humps, points and structure without a single strike. I decided to downsize to finesse size lures and, on my second "lap" caught two bass (both in the shallow southern fingers), a large gill and two 1 pound crappie, all between 10 and 11:30. At that point the bite turned off and that was all she wrote.

Successful lures were a beetle spin with a white curly tail grub and a small white jackhammer chatter bait with no trailer. I did not take my electronics and so did not do any drop shotting this trip.

The water is clear with a visibility of 6 feet or more, the coon tail has tendrils up to about 12-24 inches below the surface making treble hook lures a bit harder to use within 20 feet of the bank.  Air temperature was 58 going up to 75 or so when I left.
