1st time out as a member. Will fish this lake again. Lost 3 big fish- one 5lb,1-6(+)lb, and something that took me into the trees and broke off that was bigger than the first two. Boated 3 16"ers. These fish love a fight. All strong and healthy. THICK LIMBS be aware. I do not think the fish were holding on to the bait real good that day. They are there though! Beware the flat bottom boat seat, not attached real good. Found the drain plug on the ground before launch. All in all good day, WILL VISIT AGAIN. As I said Godzill's cousin lives at Slaughter Lake.

HI John,

We all hate loosing big fish. I hate that for you. A couple of questions:

1. What type/brand of line were you using?

2) What lb test were you using?

3) Where do you store your reels when not in use?

4) How old was the fishing line?

FYI, I had a day about 15 years ago, in which I lost more than a dozen "big" fish in a single day due to bad line. I don't make that mistake anymore.
