Fished Home Place last weekened with my buddy Jared – we had a tough go of it which I sort of expected after the freeze from the other week.  We managed three, two 2’s, and one near 3.  I missed a big one when it dove under a log and caught the lure on the log.  The afternoon opened up the fishing a bit (all three were in the afternoon after the morning rain).  I was prepared with heavy braid/flouro but the lake can be a bit tough to navigate – take it slow in the boat as there is a TON of underwater timber and laydowns.  If I had to do it over again, I’d fish an underspin near the timber and between the creekchannel in the middle/northern part of the lake and work towards the damn.  I expected a jig to work but didn’t have much success.  Think we needed to wait another week for the water to warm more but when you have the fishing bug, you go am I right?
