I am going to Yates Place for the first time at the end of sept. I would like some advice on were to fish and what to fish with.  My favorite places are Lake Leon and San Saba but i hear that this place is just as good or better.

Anyone have any tips?

Fish the timber in the main lake channel. Fish the big brush pile by the island. I’ve had my best luck with a white lateral perch or chatter bait with a Lake Fork Magic Shad as a trailer. You probably won’t catch 30 fish, but your shot at a double digit is as good there as any lake in the club.

Larry,

Good day sir!  I have fished Yates Place about 6 times and have had great success!  There is plenty of timber in the lake that you will see and want to definitely hit these spots as there will be fish around the structure.  You really want to fish the lake all-around and at all depths because the next cast could be a lunker. You just have to locate them.  I have caught a 10, 9.2, 8.9, and many 7 pluses out there:)  I use a red shad colored, 10 inch Power Worm which seems to do the trick for me.  Dwayne and Kay are the best, and you will do great!  The dam area is where I have caught most of my bigger fish, and you will want to hit that area a few times at minimum.  I hope that this is helpful, and good fishin my friend!
