Fished Doube AA yesterday with guest Larry Hance.  We were both fly fishing and it was a challenging but rewarding day on the lake.  Both in the morning and around sunset the fish were up shallow – really shallow and in the junk.   We took turns using my paddle board and/or the PW jon boat and we were spooking numerous fish out of the shallows in really clear water.  We had to make long casts but without lining the fish and move super quite to get our flies to these fish.  Ended the day with 5 bass landed on deer hair poppers and a frog popper and 3 bass landed on sinking line and clousers and a wooly bugger out deeper in the drop off from the weed line off the shore opposite of the launch.  The shallow fish came out of the junk in the shallows by the dam and around the shallow point to the left of the launch site.  All 8 of the landed bass were between 17” and 18.5” – no dinks.  I love fishing with fly rods because when you hook into a good bass the fly rod “super sizes” the bass and it was like catching 8 five pounders even though the biggest fish was only around three something.  Great day.
