I may have the opportunity to fish one of these properties in the next several weeks and was wondering what the water levels were.  Has anyone fished these properties lately?

Bill,

Black Jack is about 5 acres (50% full). Rock Chimney had a fish kill and need to get someone out there to check out the fish situation. If you would like to fish there, there is no charge. There are still fish but just need some fisherman out to give us an assessment. I bought a shock boat and will get down to give a thorough assessment within the next 60 days. Holmes is temporarily closed for low water reasons.

Steve thanks for the update. I will probably fish at Gallant Elms since I had good success this week there.

I went by Rock Chimney last thursday on my way to the Warrenton Antique show with my wife and the water was very low. The shallow end was all dry and the water was way down the bank on the house side of lake. The water looked nice but I was to far away to see color.
Bill, If you would like to fish Black Jack and would like company, let me know. It is pretty much a round lake and would still be fairly easy to fish from the bank. I am working on getting my jon boat unburied from my garage and would make it easier to get to the fish. We had some pretty good rains today and the weather showed some big storms going thru that area, should help some.

Bill, I was at Black Jack 9/24 for AM fish. I wish i had got there a little earlier. I arrived at about 7 am. I caught 3 immediately on topwater a white buzz bait, they were all over up in the shallows but quit quickly as the sun came up higher. I also missed a few on the buzz bait (hits but missed). i fished for a couple of more hours with a 6 inch plum zoom worm and caught 5 more on that. The largest was my last cast , one about two and half pounds on the dam, I did most of the worm fishing over around the dam area where the water is deeper. There is also a new aluminum boat with oars you can use too. I did not use it. I bet that boat early am on calm water with a top water for a while would be killer fishing. The are pumping some water into the pond from a well also. The water looked good, just a little shallow in parts. I will be going back soon. Roy Cotton (Austin)
