Reservation Number : 27924
Property Name : Indian Cave: La Roca Range
Reservation Date : 04/12/2021 All Day -
Total Fish/Sizes : 30 1-4 pounds
Lures Used : swimbaits on underspins

Arrived just before noon and launched our 18’ Ranger no problem, although the water level was low and without 4 wheel drive, getting out may have been tricky if bringing your larger boat. started along the dam and worked clockwise around the property and after about 20 minutes keyed in on them with the 4.8” paddle tail swimbait on an underspin hook and from then on it was very steady, casting into the thick trees and getting most every bite off of cover as you would reel past big branches with fish suspended on them. caught a handful on the texas rig and swimjig by the end of the day and only removed about a 3rd of our total catches with most all bass being healthy 2-3 pounders and a couple in the 3-4 range, although each one of us lost our biggest fish of the day close to the boat when it was all said and done! goby color saucy swimmers specifically worked slow on a ¼ underspin, and natural color creature baits for the T rig, although the larger shad swimbaits got hit as well including a catch on the 8” magdraft and a handful on a shad swimjig. fantastic day on the water!! as it tapered down towards the back the action got pretty heavy fan casting and getting bites right at the bank as well as straight down the middle where it tapered pretty thin and trees got too thick to go any further. video coming soon on the Westin Smith Channel

I spoke to the ranch manager and they got 5.5 inches of rain and the lakes are now full. So launching bigger boats will be much easier.
