Mike and I fished Double A Lake Saturday afternoon.  Wind was out of the NW, partly cloudy skies, water temperature was 63 degrees and water clarity 4’.  We had a great time.  Fishing was steady all afternoon.  Caught a total of 19.  Our five biggest fish went 26 lbs.  Caught a 6, six 5’s and the rest all 2-3 lbs.  No dinks.  Big spinner baits with tails and 8X crank baits were what worked.  Most were caught along the edge of the weed beds where it drops off sharply into deeper water or out aways from the edge of the weed beds.  Some were caught back in the cuts of the weed beds.  Talked with Joe, the landowner.  He said they got 2” of rain the night before, so the road in was a bit muddy, but had dried out a bit by the time we left.  He also told us about some of the lake managemet things that he has already done and is planning on doing. A great landowner and enjoyable to talk with. This is a unique and awesome lake with it’s deep water and sharp drop offs that we will fish again this year.
