This was my first time to flyfish Malouf lake. The day started off a little rough avoiding getting stuck following the heavy rains on Friday night. Launched the boat around 9am and started fishing the dam first with a green Frog popper. Switched to a white popper and things became productive as fish were holding up close to the bank. Worked my way around lake picking up quality fish along the way. 

Around noon the wind picked up and switched over to stripping a crawfish fly pattrern on a sinking line around the timber. There were a number nice bass stacked in the 15-16’ channel along the timber. It was here where 2 really nice fish were lost close to the boat. Picked up the largest (3lb) fish of the day here. I greatly enjoyed fishing this lake and look forward to returning soon. Had to call it a day @ 3pm unfortunately.
