We fished Tara on Friday morning May 7th. The road to the lake still has water flowing from the recent rains but was easily crossed. We miss judged sunrise, so we were a tad bit late to the party. Everyone caught fish and almost all were solid upper 2’s and 3’s., along with a scattering of 4 and 5 pounders. Topwater worked through out the day, had a bunch of blowups and misses but you could pick up a worm rod and toss back in and have a better than even chance for a hookup. The fish were active but would bite real light and run with your bait. Then when you get to watching your line, a big one would darn near jerk the rod out of your hands.

We saw the otter swimming across the creek channel, twice. The snakes are out and feeling romantic, we saw over 20 with several pairs mating.

One of the guys watched on his scope as a 5 lber swam to his black lizard and nailed it,

We caught fish everywhere, no spot was unproductive.

The wind finally started to pick up around 10o’clock and made boat positioning much more of a challenge.

We spoke to one of the owners as we pulled out, he thanked us for coming and was asking for suggestions on how to improve the experience. Very nice gentleman.

Stay safe and tight lines
