Arrived to smooth water and cloudy skies at sunrise that gave way to partly sunny skies by mid-morning.  The morning bite was on with soft plastics and poppers.  Around 10am, the wind out of the north picked up gusting to 10mph.  Fish seemed to be relating to the grass about 10 – 20 feet from the shoreline and caught fish all around the lake from the boat launch to the dam and back towards the creeks.  Unfortunately, my trolling motor decided to stop working around 12:30.  We fished the bank for another hour or so but I’m sure the fish count would be up if we had been able to stay on the water.  The boat is outstanding.  The one complaint – everything we caught was right at the slot limit – still fun to catch but I couldn’t find anything of size this trip.  Still a great morning on the water.
